Louise Shadbolt has achieved much in her life. A self made millionaire by the age of 29, a successful career as a financial advisor, a fitness instructor, health and wealth coach, mother of two, and, more recently, an author.

Yet Louise’s life has not been a bed of roses.

She has battled and overcome life threatening health problems, suffered a debilitating marital breakup and faced financial disaster. Yet, she has not only survived these challenges, but indeed risen above them.

Her passion now is to see women who are fearful, stressed and overwhelmed find

emotional and financial stability and discover a purpose and meaning in their lives.

“…able to have time out from life, relax in the sun and walk barefoot along the beach!”

In a recent interview we asked Louise about her remarkable story….

What life events prompted you to write your first book ‘Abundant Living’?

Funnily enough it was a divorce, and a very messy one involving domestic violence. This event unfortunately resulted in going to Court not just once but many times and I spent a good part of four years in and out of lawyer meetings. It was an incredibly difficult time. It took an enormous toll on me and I researched as much as I could during this time about life, how to get through bad times, how life really works and I began to understand life better. I realised we can turn our darkest moments into our biggest gifts. I love to write things down. As I learnt more and more about life I was able to go back and re read it which really helped me to remember key milestones and insights. It was a big learning curve and when I finally put all the pieces together I wanted to share it with others going through hard times to help them. So I wrote the book Abundant Living in 2020 and donated copies to the Raw Prison Project, my book helped a lady in Auckland Women's Prison and I will always remember her hand written letter thanking me for such an uplifting and positive book that was timely on her journey and just what she needed.

Do you believe we can all achieve abundance in our everyday lives. And can you define your definition of abundance?

I truly believe we can all do this, everything is happening for our highest good, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. I feel we have been led to believe life should be hard and thats just how it is, that you need to work hard for money, that you need to be careful with spending your money because it might run out. A belief in a lack of money is one of the first hurdles, once we change our perspective away from lack we can look differently at how money actually works and we can start to move into a state of abundance. Abundance for me is in the feelings. The feelings of having enough, from support to resources to knowledge to love to relationships, health and wealth. To know and trust in the knowing, you can get whatever is needed done, with a connection to a higher source you will experience spiritual wealth, you cannot seperate financial wealth, spiritual wealth and the wealth of well being. Everything is energy and so too is money. Starting with a feeling of gratitude for all you have even if it is not in the form of money, as abundance is more than just money.

Why are wealth and health so intricately entwined?

People say health equals wealth and without our health we cannot truly enjoy our wealth. Everything is energy, our health is energy and so too is our wealth, money is energy. The feelings we feel have an energetic vibration to them, we attract to us what is within us so to speak. What we are thinking has a great impact on our physical bodies, and so too on our energetic connection through thoughts to money. Feelings of I don’t have enough are likely to be reflected back to us, where we think we don’t have enough money for example this can cause further stress on our physical bodies and so the pattern continues. I have discovered how to support the physical body energetically with minerals and I teach people in my classes about how to do this.

To a 40 + women who is feeling stressed and overwhelmed, with seemingly no direction in life, what would you say?

I would tell her this is not happening to her, it is happening ‘for’ her. I would give her a mantra to repeat whenever she feels overwhelmed “This is happening for my highest good, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.”

I would ask her about her favourite childhood movie or book and help her understand why she was attracted to it, giving her insights into what she values, what excites her and what she is interested in. She could get excited about learning more about a particular subject as a result or a character in the movie/book. These insights can help reveal a persons purpose.

You say that your belief changed when someone told you that you’d have an abundant future. Can you explain how that happened, and how that what you believe, subconsciously or consciously, you receive?

I had a coach who I worked with for a while and she helped me to understand life better. She told me I had an abundant future. I will never forget how that changed my life, I went from feeling like there was no hope to having hope again about my future. I later went on to discover through Bruce Lipton how really powerful we are, that within the first seven years of our life we are in a state of hypnosis, we are unconsciously taking on information said around us without realising it is creating our beliefs. Our beliefs are really powerful, yet overlooked a lot of the time. Bruce talks about quantum physics and I love scientific evidence to back up information. I loved physics at High School. I wish I had studied chemistry too. What quantum physics teaches us is that everything we thought was physical is not physical, physical atoms are made up of vortex of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating. Each atom is like a wobbly spinning top that radiates energy. Atoms are made out of invisible energy not tangible matter. We are vibrational energetic beings, and therefore we need to know how to support ourselves at this energetic level. Beliefs are a great starting point.

Gregg Braden is a scientist and he also changed my view on beliefs showing a tumour reducing in size on a X-Ray machine while two men stood next to the patient chanting a mantra that 'it was healed', to the point the tumour disappeared after 2 and a half minutes. I would listen to The Leo King on YouTube and he would say 'What You Believe You Receive' and it resonates deeply for me. The song by Journey "Don't stop Believing" which then goes on to say, "...hold on to that feeling" that, I believe, could not be more true. There are people who have practiced the 'rain dance' to make it rain, they would dance in celebration of the rain already there. It hadn't rained yet, but their beliefs drew the event to them. This is how powerful our feelings are. When we understand this we can move heaven and earth. We are tremendously powerful. To ensure our feelings aka the power has enough electrical supply I had to work this out after writing my first book. Stress is an emotional response, we feel stress. So, my latest book is called Abundant Healing and details how we can support our physical body in a practical way, using practical solutions, there is no woo woo stuff, it is simple biochemistry.

Your dream has been to create a centre where you can work alongside women in practical sessions. Tell us about this.

Yes I have just started to advertise locally the weekend classes I am holding in Waiwera. I have discovered something very unique - a way to support our bodies electrical needs - so we really can move forward with more energy - and I am very excited to share my information. I hope to help women who are struggling with the things I have struggled with while doing these classes, namely sleeplessness, fatigue, anxiety, fear, lack of confidence and overall sense of well being. All of these symptoms are a lack of energy, a lack of the underlying nutrients the body needs. Although our journeys are forever on-going I believe I have four years under my belt of research into health which can move others forward really quickly to a more healthier life where they feel more energy, less anxiety and better sleep. Human connection and support also plays a big role in healing, but when people are alone going through stressful events, there is still help at hand locally, for free. My research goes back to 1875 with the start of the Waiwera thermal water for healing, I have connected many dots and discovered why this water is so healing. There is more to say, but I will leave it there for now.

What is the greatest life lesson you have learnt?

Never give up, keep believing and keep holding onto that feeling!
